Book Review \\ Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles: I) - Marissa Meyer

Welcome February, the Month of Love!

In this very first day of the month i am going to review a book that i have been loving for the past month and the tittle of the book is "Cinder" by Marissa Meyer. So get your tea, blanket and lay comfortably in your bed because we're entering the world of fairy tales.

For the month of February, March, and April i decided to review about The Lunar Chronicles. Basically the every book in this series is about a Disney Princess. Cinder (Book 1) is about Cinderella. The second book, Scarlet is about the red riding hood. And the third book, Cress, is about Rapunzel.

The first book is insanely good, guys! Please do yourself a favour and buy this book like... NOW!

As i said before, the book is kind of a retold story of the famous fairy tale "Cinderella" BUT with a frikkin cooler twist!

Cinder is a Cyborg.

A what?

A Cyborg, Half human, half robot.

You may or may not realise that in the cover of the book, but cinder's feet is made up of steel. And her hands as well. And some part of her internal organs as well.

And she's also a mechanic.

HOW CRAZY? VERY CRAZY.

The story is set in a futuristic New Beijing, where the world have been torn due to World War V, and the moon creatures have been colonised (Lunars). There are basically 3 types of creatures in this book and those are: human (Red blooded normal human), android (robot helper), and Lunars (Silver Blooded Magical Moon Creatures).

As a typical Cinderella story, Evil stepmother and step-sisters are present. So basically there is Adri (Evil step-mother), Pearl (Evil step-sister), and Peony (Kind little sister).

The government system is Monarchy, the king and queen type of thing.

And of course, there is... the prince charming.

YASH.

His name is Prince Kai. I kid you not, he is so so so so kind hearted and charming and perfect.

Here comes the plot twist... There is a plague going around the country, successfully killing innocent people as well as the King (Kai's Father). The whole entire world is looking for the antidote with unsuccessful outcome.

Because Adri is Cinder's legal guardian, she can "volunteer" Cinder to the palace's research team anytime. The research team will then have the right to give cinder the plague and also test their unsuccessful antidote on her.

Cinder + Research Team = Death.

Surprisingly, when the kind doctor give her the plague, she is proven to heal herself and with that being said, she is immune to the plague.

Only Lunars are immune to the plague.

*Spoiler alert*

Lunars=Immune
Cinder= Immune
Lunar=Cinder

Here is the part where i need to bring out the ultimate evil:

Queen Levana (I hate her the most)

She killed everyone in her family so that she stays being a queen for as long as possible. Including her beautiful sister, and her beautiful niece called Princess Selena. Princess Selena is rumoured not dead, and she is also rumoured to be living on earth that very second.

With the king dead, the young prince is corronated as the king.

Queen Levana has husband, she want to take down earth as well and so she want Kai to marry her or else she will declare a war.

Lunar VS Earthens ? Nope, not a chance. The Earthens will surely lose.

Find out the rest of the story by purchasing this book on the nearest bookstore!

"Book is the only thing you buy, that makes you richer." - Unknown.

Check out the book review video that i made if you're a book lover like i am!
