Comeback + Paint Yellow Lights with Gitta

Hmm...

Its been more than 6 months since i last posted anything but here i go again!

I know i have been away for waaaaay too long and i probably should not continue this blog but i think you guys might want to hear the reason of my disappearance :) *drumroll*

I have been preparing my self for university entrance test!

JK i didnt spend that long of a time for one specific exam BUT i did my a levels and final test around may and i also have been busy with unlimited homeworks plus project eversince.

But yeah, since my university thing has been sorted out, i now only need to prepare for national examination and final end of year examination which will start around April.

In the mean time, i decided that i will write again to make use of my time.

I hope you guys still enjoy my writings just as much and im starting my "comeback" with my work of art.

For 2016, I decided to pour my creativity more in the form of painting. Its one of those things that i think therapeutic as well as relaxing and fun. Painting has always been my door to escape in this hectic world.

At the age of 17, I realize that sometimes the simplest things make me happiest.

The time move so fast and somehow painting allow me to slow it down and cherish every moment.

A little background story, i started painting on the ninth grade because my favorite YouTuber "Bubzbeauty" made a video of her painting and so the little gitta was like

"Hell yeah i wanna start painting too!"

The day after i saw that video, i rushed down to the nearest bookstore and brought all painting-related items excluding the canvas-stand (because who wants to spend 600 hundred thousand rupiah for a canvas holder? Not me.)

I started painting right away. No joke.

The little Gitta did not think that painting need a heck lot of  preparation and so she went ahead with the paint and it turned out like this...

I'd give that 6 out of 10. Not bad but the blending clearly needs some improvements.

Next, i tried painting again, this time it was twilight inspired and i have more preparation time to decide what color-theme it is going to be and stuff like that. So the final look is like this..

Standard, I'd give it 7.5 out of 10. Note to self: you kinda improved but please work on the perspective of the tree and why the hell is there a f-ing tree in the middle of the path?

And so i tried again, this time i tried to imitate other people's painting so it cuts my preparation time in half and make my job easier. The result? Well...

Should i even score it? Well, first the tree does not look like an actual tree and don't even get me started on the poor tree bark gradient.

I was very mortified by my last painting that i didn't try to paint anymore for the rest of the year.

And so several months after my last disastrous painting, i decided that i will try again (+1 point for perseverance git) and it turned out to be like this...

Everything is quite nice but where the hell can u find straight af tree here on earth? With that being said, i'll score it 7 out of 10

After years of no artsy related creation, one day on the mid November 2015 i decided that i want to make a painting for my "significant other" (its basically a fancy word for boyfriend.) as a Christmas and New Year gift.

But what should i paint for him?

I then remember he loves yellow street lights so so much, you know the kind that you can find on the street/ road at night? Weird i know.

Most guys will fancy automotive gear or Nike shoes or something else that is loud and or eye catching. But him? he chooses to like something that is silently beautiful and quite sentimental. That's one of the reasons i absolutely adore him, he look at things in a different light and outside the box. On top of that, he outsmart me a plenty of time (even in my field of study like biology :( )  He taught me a lot about life in general and he brings the best version of me.

This gift of mine doesn't mean anything compared to life lessons he gave me that have resulted in several accomplishment (on a specific aspect) over the year of 2015.

Thanks Sam, I feel like you're so much more than just my boyfriend. You're the one person who can put up with my not-so-pretty side, the one person i can rely on not to judge me. To call you only as my boyfriend would hardly give you justice.

I documented each and every step that i take in painting this imperfect art piece, and i merge it all together in one video. With that being said, check out my time lapse painting of yellow lights!
